Armstrong Compass R 40-85 SS Design Envelope Dry Rotor Circulator – Stainless Steel, 115V (119481-173)
The Armstrong Compass R 40-85 (part number 119481-173) is a Design Envelope variable speed dry rotor circulator with a stainless steel casing for open systems and potable water (NSF 372 & NSF 61, lead free), and a 1/2 hp ECM permanent magnet motor for 1 phase, 115 V, 60 Hz. The model number means a maximum head of about 40 ft and a maximum flow of about 85 USgpm. Compass R is designed as a universal replacement for fixed-speed circulators using popular flange-to-flange dimensions, and its patented Auto mode and sensorless control can save up to 70% in operating cost and energy compared with a fixed-speed circulator.

- Sound pressure level lower than 43 dB(A).
- Maximum relative air humidity: 95%.
- A spool piece is included: where the Compass R is shorter flange-to-flange than the circulator being replaced, the spool piece makes up the difference and may eliminate piping changes.
- For open systems, a liquid temperature below 150°F (65°C) is recommended to avoid precipitation of calcium.
