Armstrong SGG-2515 Grooved Suction Guide – 2-1/2" Grooved x 1-1/2" ANSI 125 Flanged (546860-034)
The Armstrong SGG-2515 grooved suction guide (part number 546860-034) is installed at the suction side of a centrifugal pump to turn the flow 90°, straighten it with internal guide vanes and strain out debris before it reaches the pump. It has a 2-1/2" grooved inlet from the system – compatible with standard cut groove pipe fittings such as Anvil or Victaulic – and a 1-1/2" ANSI 125 flanged outlet to the pump. It replaces an elbow, strainer and straight run of pipe in one compact fitting. Rated for 175 psi and 300°F, the body and guide vanes are ductile iron (ASTM A536 grade 65-45-12) with a stainless steel strainer.

Installation, Maintenance, Parts Kits & Manuals
- Companion flanges are not included.
- Grooved pipe fittings are not included. The inlet groove is compatible with standard cut groove pipe fittings, such as from Anvil or Victaulic.
- Support the suction guide with a 0.95" (24 mm) support pipe (dimension ØH), supplied by the contractor.
- Leave at least 5.50" (140 mm) clearance (dimension G) to withdraw the strainer for cleaning.
- Remove the fine mesh start-up strainer after 24 hours of operation.
- The 1/4" NPT inlet gauge tapping is supplied plugged.
